Women's Basketball Signs Transfer Guard Kylie Ray

SAN DIEGO – Head coach Blanche Alverson and the San Diego women's basketball program are excited to announce the signing of transfer guard Kylie Ray ahead of the 2025-26 season.

"Kylie Ray is the kind of player who makes everyone around her better – not just with her presence, but with her ability to change a game," Alverson said. "She's a true offensive threat – able to score the ball at all three levels and facilitate an offense with poise and creativity. She plays with heart, competes with purpose and embodies the integrity and passion that define our Torero family. Her return to California isn't just a homecoming – it's a new beginning, and we're proud she chose USD to write her next chapter."

Ray comes to USD after playing one season at Utah where she appeared in 16 games off the bench for the Utes. She scored her first collegiate points in her NCAA debut in her team's victory over Southern Utah when she scored six points by knocking down a pair of three-point shots. Kylie played a season-high 16 minutes in a home route over McNeese when she grabbed a career-best five rebounds and dished out an assist for her team.

A Southern California native, Ray was a standout prep player at Crescenta Valley High School where she was a three-time Pacific League MVP and helped lead her team to a trio of Pacific League championships during her high school career. Scoring the ball at a high level to cap off her senior season, Ray averaged 20 points per game as she earned All-CIF recognition for her strong play.

Ray is the second transfer the Toreros have added this offseason alongside Helen Holley, and will join five incoming freshmen to the program this season: Jessica AjayiRyanne Bahansen-PriceOlivia OwensIsabella Von Seipler and Ayla Williams
