  • Despite being winless to start conference play, the Torero defense has been able to keep them in games as they currently rank second in the conference in points per game allowed at 60.7 through the team's first 17 games of the season.

ALL-TIME SERIES VS SEATTLE U AND PEPPERDINE

  • Thursday night's game in the Emerald City will be just the seventh all-time meeting between the Redhawks and Toreros as USD has won five of the previous meetings.
  • The two sides last faced off during the 2017-18 season when the Toreros fell 80-73 at the Redhawk Center, as San Diego will be looking to start a new winning streak against their newest conference opponent.

  • The two sides last faced off in the first round of the 2025 WCC Tournament as San Diego picked up a 66-59 victory with four Torero starters reaching double figures in scoring. Hallie Rhodes played the full 40 minutes of action scoring 10 points and dishing out six assists.

SCOUTING THE REDHAWKS

  • Seattle U enters this week's games with a 4-11 overall mark and are still seeking their first victory in league play after an 0-4 start.
  • Through the early portion of the season, the Redhawks have faced off with Pacific, Santa Clara, Gonzaga and Washington State as they're matchup with the Cougars went down to the wire in a 73-69 loss.
  • Leading the way for the Redhawks this season has been the play of graduate student guard Ella Brubaker as she's averaging 15.1 PPG on 44% shooting from the field in her first season competing for Seattle U after spending the last few seasons at Pepperdine.
  • San Diego will be looking to take advantage of the Redhawks' defense during Thursday's game as Seattle U is allowing the most points per game in the WCC at 75.2 entering this week's action.

SCOUTING THE WAVES

  • Pepperdine begins play this week with a 10-5 overall record and are currently 1-2 in conference play as they came up short against Washington State and Gonzaga before taking down Saint Mary's in their most recent game.
  • The Waves put together a strong non-conference performance for the program's best start in 25 years as they began the season with a 7-2 record.
  • Leading the way for Pepperdine to start the season has been the play of sophomore guard Elli Guiney as she's averaging 13.9 PPG and shooting just under 40% from three-point distance.
