SAN DIEGO — Associate Vice President and Executive Director of Athletics Kimya Massey announced today that Bart Thompson will not return as head coach of the University of San Diego men's rowing program, effective immediately.

Thompson led the Toreros men's rowing program since 2021.

"We thank Bart for his service to USD Athletics and wish him and his family well in this next chapter," Massey said.

Assistant coaches Costas Ciungan and Jack Newell have been named interim co-head coaches and will continue to lead the program through the remainder of the 2025-26 season.

USD Athletics will launch a national search for the program's next head coach this spring.
