Dear Torero Fans,
Official practice is underway, and while it's been great to have the guys in the gym a bit longer, it's really no different than what we've been building since the summer. We've established our habits and standards, and this next phase is about continuing to build on that foundation as we prepare for the season.
This is also one of the busiest stretches of the year for our guys. Between practice, strength and conditioning, film, classes and our continued commitment to the USD and San Diego communities, there is a lot being asked of them every day, but they've embraced that responsibility well. We expect our guys to be present and engaged across campus, take care of business in the classroom and understand what it means to represent USD Men's Basketball beyond the court.
We recently completed our first intrasquad scrimmage, giving us an opportunity to see our guys compete in a more game-like environment. There was plenty to be excited about and areas to improve, but the competitiveness and energy our group brought was high.
We're now just over a month away from tipping off the season, and every day becomes more valuable. There are no shortcuts between now and November 2. We have to continue stacking good days, holding one another accountable and finding ways to improve every time we step into the gym.

Thursday, October 15 at the Jenny Craig Pavilion. It will be a great opportunity to meet our team, spend time with both USD Basketball programs and start building the energy and support we want inside the JCP this season.
