No. 15 San Diego Men's Tennis Selected as NCAA Tournament Regional Hosts

Toreros to face UC Santa Barbara in First Round on Friday

SAN DIEGO – No. 15 San Diego men's tennis was selected to host a regional for the 2026 NCAA Tournament, as revealed in Monday's selection show.

The WCC regular season and tournament champion Toreros are NCAA Tournament bound for the 21st time in program history and will face UC Santa Barbara in the first round on Friday, May 1 at 1 p.m. at Hogan Tennis Center.

Also in the region are No. 21 UCLA and No. 30 Arizona State, playing at 10 a.m. Friday. The regional final will take place on Saturday, May 2 at noon.

It's two straight seasons hosting the first and second round regional for 11th-year head coach Ryan Keckley and the Toreros, who hosted for the first time in program history in 2025 and set an attendance record at the Skip and Cindy Hogan Tennis Center.

USD (20-5, 6-1 WCC) topped the then-ranked No. 20 and now-Big West Champion Gauchos (18-7, 5-1 Big West) on the road in Santa Barbara, 4-2 on Feb. 21. The Toreros also faced UCLA (17-7, 10-3 B1G) and Arizona State (17-10, 4-4 Big 12) at Hogan Tennis Center, suffering defeat to the Bruins once in February and the Sun Devils twice back in January.

The Toreros lost just five matches on the season, including a 10-match win streak that lasted over a month with five straight shutouts to start conference play en route to a fifth straight WCC Regular Season title. On Saturday, April 25, USD mounted a remarkable comeback in four and a half hours to clinch its third straight conference tournament championship. USD's most notable wins on the season in addition to at UCSB are vs. No. 16 Baylor, vs. No. 17 Arizona, at No. 19 USC and four other top-30 wins.
