HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Western High School...as a senior, he was named first-team All-Ambassador League, and first-team All-Inland Valley...as a junior, he was named his team[apos]s MVP, while also taking home first-team All-Ambassador League honors, highlighted by a 20 strikeout, seven inning outing...as a freshman, he was tabbed his team[apos]s Pitcher of the Year...played football as a senior. PERSONAL: Ryan Anders Olson was born on Nov. 22, 1994 in Palm Springs, Calif....he is the son of Jerry and Marilyn Olson...was also recruited by UCLA and Stanford...chose to attend USD because of the baseball program, coaching staff and academic reputation...his father, Jerry, was a college wrestler...notes he was on the 18U USA team in 2012, and helped lead the team to a gold in the IBAF World Championships in Seoul Korea.
