Biography

JUNIOR (2013): Made 25 appearances with five starts in the mound... helped lead the team to the WCC Tournament championship, and into the NCAA Regionals...posted a 4-4 overall record with a 6.19 ERA in 48.0 innings of work...recorded 44 strikeouts and issued 28 walks...recorded six strikeouts in 5.0 innings of work against San Diego State (2/17)...recorded six strikeouts in 4.0 innings of work against Kent State (2/23)...recorded starts against San Diego State (2/17), Kent State (2/23), Michigan (3/10), Loyola Marymount (4/7) and UNLV (5/6)...recorded wins against Seton Hall (3/6), Oregon State (3/28), Oregon State (3/30) and against Saint Mary[apos]s (5/3). SOPHOMORE (2012): Appeared in 22 games, while making one start... Finished the year going 3-0 with a 2.67 ERA in 27 innings pitched... Allowed only one home run and held opponents to a .222 batting average... Did not allow an earned run during an eight game span (11 innings) from Feb. 19 to March 20... Best outing came on March 20 at San Diego State when MacNabb threw a season-high four shutout innings while striking out three. FRESHMAN (2011): Made 18 game appearances and one game start...had a record of 2-2 with a 4.55 ERA...tallying 20 strikeouts in 29.2 innings of work...his first debut was against opponent Winthrop on February 19, 2011...had his first game start and longest outing against Fresno State (3/27/2011), pitching 5.1 innings while striking out three batters.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played baseball at La Costa Canyon High School...as a senior, he posted a 98-2 record with a 1.58 ERA, while posting 102 strikeouts in 75 innings of work en route to a first-team All-CIF and first-team All-Avocado League distinction...as a senior he set the school record for single-game strikeouts with 16...as a junior, he posted a 6-1 record with a 1.15 ERA, had 75 strikeouts in 49 innings of work, en route to being named first-team All-CIF and first-team All-Avocado League...he also played football and soccer.

PERSONAL: Max MacNabb was born on August 28, 1992 in La Jolla, Calif....he is the son of Shawn and Amy MacNabb...he was also recruited by LSU, UC Irvine, Hawaii and Cal State Fullerton...chose to attend USD because of the great baseball program, the great environment and because he loves Southern California.
