USD: Third year player will start for special teams at both punter and place kicker... Last season he averaged 35.9 yards per punt with a long of 54 yards (at UC Davis)... Nine balls were placed inside the opponent[apos]s 20-yard line, with six others being called for fair catches... Also chipped in with 2-of-2 PAT kicks... In 2006 he was a solid 22-for-25 in PAT kicks, ranking 8th on the team in scoring... He also was the team[apos]s punter and averaged 34.5 yards on 28 punts (967 yards)... Seven of his punts were inside the opponent[apos]s 20-yard line and six others were for fair catches. High School: Prepped at Penn HS where he played for coach Cory Yeoman... Two-time All-State honorable mention pick (junior & senior seasons)... Three-time All-Conference pick... Two-time All-Area selection... Also lettered in track where he reached 12[apos]6' in the pole vault. Personal: Born on September 24, 1987 at Camp Pendleton, CA... Parents are John & Amy McSorley of Granger, IN... Chose USD for academics and football... Also recruited by Cornell, Northwestern, Duke and Dayton... Played 12 years of soccer before switching over to football. Major: Business Administration.
