JUNIOR (2011-12): Played in 21 games in the guard position...helped lead the team into the Final Four of the WNIT...helped the team record a program-best 24-9 overall record...helped the team finish in a tie for second place in the WCC, with a 12-4 mark, which set a new program record for most WCC wins in program-history...scored a season-high five points in a win at Columbia (12/1/11)...scored in two more game, with two points in the second round WNIT win over Pacific (3/18/12), and four points in the loss to Oklahoma State (3/28/12).
SOPHOMORE (2010-11): Played in 24 games as a back-up guard for the Toreros...she helped the team advance to the semifinal round of the WCC Tournament...averaged 2.0 ppg...scored a season-high seven points in a win against Cal State Northridge (1/19/11) going 3-for-5 from the floor...also scored five points against Portland (2/24/11).
FRESHMAN (2009-10): Played in 26 games for the Toreros as a true freshman... helped the team win the Maggie Dixon Surf N Slam Classic for the second straight year...scored a career-high eight points against Cal State Northridge (11/24/09) in 23 minutes of play while also recording four assists.
HIGH SCHOOL: Earned four varsity letters in basketball while playing at Pearland High school... as a junior and senior, she was named first-team All-District 24-5A, and the Defensive and Offensive Player of the year in 2008...she averaged 18.0 ppg as a senior, dished out 3.2 assists per game, 4.0 rebounds per game, and averaged 1.2 steals per game...as a senior she was named to the All-Greater Houston team, played in the Greater Houston All-Star game and was named to the academic All-State team...she recorded three double-doubles and one triple double as a senior...as a junior, she averaged 13.7 ppg and seven assists per game...she ranked in the top-5 in the city of Houston in three-point shooting as a junior...she was named to the All-State Academic Team for Texas Association of Basketball Coaches as a senior...she has been a member of the National Honor Society from 2005-09 and carried a 3.7 GPA into USD...she is also a member of the Science National Honors Society.
PERSONAL: Julia Alexandria Bennett was born on September 16, 1991...she is the daughter of Willie and Joyce Bennett...was heavily recruited by the University of Houston, University of North Florida, Liberty University, University of Portland, Wichita State, Stephen F. Austin and East Tennessee State...chose to attend USD because she loved everyone at the school, because of the strong women[apos]s basketball program and because she sees USD as a place she can grow both as a player and as a person...her father, Willie, played basketball at Houston Baptist University...she notes that she loves to laugh and draw.
