JUNIOR 2004-05
Connected on 39 three-point baskets as a junior, moving her into 5th place all-time at USD in three-pointers made (91)... Shot 81% from the free-throw line (21-of-26)... Appeared in 27 of USD[apos]s 28 games, starting the final 10 games of the season... Made a three-point basket in 17 straight games to close out the year and in 22 of her 27 games overall... Posted a 33% shooting clip from beyond the arc (39-for-116), leading the team in three-point attempts... Poured in a season-high four three-pointers against St. Mary[apos]s (1/29) en route to scoring a season-high 14 points... Cleared 79 rebounds, totaling a season-best seven boards twice, first against San Francisco (1/15) and later vs. Gonzaga (2/19)... Reached double-figures in scoring on five different occasions... Averaged 6.4 points per game and 2.9 rebounds.
SOPHOMORE 2003-04
One of the best three-point shooters in the WCC in 2003-04... Ranked second in the WCC in three-point percentage (47%) during conference play... Shot 42% (51-121) from beyond the arc on the season... Appeared in all 29 games and made11 starts... Also an excellent free-throw shooter, making 27-of-36 on the season... Reached double figures in scoring 10 different times... Scored a career-high 28 points, connecting on six treys, leading the Toreros to an 87-81 overtime victory over St. Mary[apos]s in the WCC Postseason Tournament (3/4)... Reached double-digits in scoring in three consecutive league games late in January... Recorded a career-high five assists and added 11 points @ Portland (1/29)... Played an incredible game against St. Mary[apos]s (1/22) when she scored a game-high 14 points, shot 8-for-8 from the free throw line, and grabbed a career-best eight rebounds... Finished the season shooting 40% from the field... Averaged 24 minutes per game and scored 8.6 points per contest (second best for any Torero in 03-04)... Led USD in three-point baskets made (51).
FRESHMAN 2002-03
Sidelined by injury until league play began in January... Appeared in 10 games... Scored five points and grabbed five rebounds helping San Diego defeat Portland (2/1)... Was 9-for-12 from the free throw line... In just 10 games Helvey totaled seven steals... Blocked a pair of shots and connected on a three point basket.
HIGH SCHOOL
Honored as a McDonalds All-American Nominee after a standout senior season at Esperanza High School in Anaheim... Led Esperanza to the Sunset League Championship as both a junior and senior... Named the league[apos]s MVP as a senior... Tabbed as a First Team All-CIF performer scoring 13 points and dishing out four assists per game during her final prep season... Also garnered first team all-league accolades as a prep junior.
