2010-11 at USD: Appeared in 22 games with two starts his freshman season... Averaged 3.2 ppg and 2.0 rebounds... Season-best 12 points in 15 minutes of action at SDSU (12-11-10) where he made 4-of-5 shots from the field and was a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line... Twice pulled down a personal-best 5 rebounds (Fresno State & La Verne)... Twice tallied 3 blocked shots (Fresno State & Pepperdine).

High School: Attended Episcopal School of Dallas (ESD) where he played for Coach Corey Henderson... His senior season he averaged 16.1 ppg, 10.1 rpg and 4.5 blocks while helping lead ESD (20-7) to it[apos]s third consecutive SPC Division I Championship... Earned All-SPC First-Team and SPC South Region First-Team honors while leading the SPC in rebounding and shot blocking... Named a McDonald[apos]s All America nominee; a First Team All-State selection and a Player of the Year candidate by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches...Also participated in track and field for one year.

His dad, Jeff, was a strong safety for the San Francisco 49ers (1984-89) and a member of three Super Bowl championship teams... His grandfather, Cincy Powell, played pro basketball in the ABA...Brother, Jeff Jr., plays football at Texas A&M...Besides USD, also recruited by George Mason, Southern Illinois, Harvard, Cornell and Bradley...In high school, he wrote for the school[apos]s poetry magazine...Aspires to become either an investment banker, sports agent, or professional basketball player after graduation.
