- Bird is joining USD after a standout high school career
- She left White River High School (Buckley, Wash.) as the school's all-time leading scorer
- Was a four-time all-league selection and two-time all-state selection
- As a senior, scored 23.1 points per game and grabbed 12.1 rebounds per game to help lead her team to a 24-4 record (14-0 in conference) and a sixth place finish in the 2A State Tournament
- She received multiple prestigious awards after her senior year including AP 2A Washington State Player of the Year, Washington State Girls Basketball Coaches 2A Player of the Year, 2A South Puget Sound League MVP and the 2A The News Tribune All-Area Player of the Year
- Scored a career-high 43 points in a game, a school record
- Averaged 19.5 ppg and 7.7 rebounds as a junior and was named league MVP and was an All-state selection
- Helped her team win the league and district title as a junior
- As a sophomore helped her team finish fourth in state, averaging 16.8 ppg and 8.9 rpg...Was named to the All-State Tournament Team
- Made an immediate impact as a freshman, averaging 13.7 points per game and 7.4 rebounds per game
- Part of a team that finished fourth in state and Bird was named to the All-State Tournament Team
- Played volleyball for three years where she was a two-time all-league selection
- As a senior helped her team finish fourth in state and was an All-State selection

- Born May 21, 1999 in Edmonds, Wash. to Kris and Ian Bird
- Chose USD for the team's family atmosphere, the competitiveness of the coaching staff, location and for the beautiful campus
- Was also recruited by Montana, Pacific, Seattle and Idaho State
- Her father Ian played baseball at Central Washington University and her brother Ryan plays baseball at Whitworth University
