RS FRESHMAN (2017)

• Appeared in all 13 games for the Toreros
• Totaled 12 tackles (4 solo) with 1.5 sacks (-16 yards)

• Named to the PFL All-Academic Honor Roll

• He sat out the 2016 season as a redshirt

• At California High School in San Ramon, California, Friedel was named 1^st Team All-League Offensive Lineman and 2^nd Team All-League Defensive Lineman
• In addition to football, Friedel lettered in basketball for 2 years and baseball for 2 years where he was named All-League 1^st Baseman

• In his free time Friedel enjoys fishing with friends and family
• He also volunteers his time with Challenger Baseball League where he assists children with special needs to play baseball
• This will be his first year away from parents Kevin and Carol Friedel and he will be living on USD's campus for the year
• Academics and the City of San Diego are what sold him on playing at USD over Humboldt State, UC Davis, and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo
