Agents:

The University of San Diego (USD) is committed to its compliance with the NCAA Legislation and California State Laws pertaining to agents and advisors. Under such authorities, student-athletes are explicitly prohibited from having any agreement (verbal or written) for representation (either present or future). Further, the NCAA rules prohibit student-athletes, their relatives, and their friends from receiving any benefits from an agent, including an agent's employee, representative, or affiliate. Student-athletes and agents who seek to contact student-athletes are expected to adhere to the procedure listed below.

USD's Athletic Compliance Office constantly strives to educate its student-athletes and potential agents on NCAA Legislation regarding amateurism and the use of agents for professional representation. As such, any and all agents seeking to represent a student-athlete in their future professional sports careers is required to register with USD's Athletic Compliance Office with the appropriate forms and follow all relevant procedures.

USD Agent Procedure:

  1. Agents must fill out the Agent Registration Form and return the form to the USD Compliance Office.
  2. Agents must also be registered with the State of California athlete agent legislation and are required to provide verification to the USD Compliance Office.
  3. The USD Compliance Office will provide email verification that the USD Agent Registration form and the State of California Athlete Agent Registration verification have been received.

USD Compliance asks that agents refrain from contracting USD student-athletes until they have received the verification email.
