Senior in 2004: Was used sparingly as a senior in 2004... Pitched in ten games and a total of nine and one third innings...Worked a flawless inning of relief at St. Mary[apos]s (3-27-04)... Made three consecutive appearances without allowing an earned run in late March... Did not allow any homeruns and sat down six batters via the strikeout.

Junior in 2003: Was a key component to San Diego[apos]s WCC Championship team... Appeared in 20 games, all out of the bullpen... Struckout 26 batters in 26 total innings of work... Posted an ERA of 5.54... Pitched a season-high four innings during a mid-week game with Cal State Northridge (4-1-03)... Struckout a season-high five during three plus innings of work against then-No. 1 Texas (2-1-03)... Allowed just three extra base hits all year.

Prep/College: Originally attended Loyola Marymount (2000), Palomar CC (2001), then Grossmont CC (2002)... Fanned 13 in 20 plus innings as a sophomore at nearby Grossmont... At USD High School (across the street from USD) Jones went 18-7 as an upperclassman... Named the Dons Pitcher of the Year as a junior and senior... Helped USD High School win the Western league as a senior... Coached by Dick Serrano as a prep.

Personal: Born on November 12, 1982 in San Diego, California... Son of Marcy and Doug Jones ... Chose to attend USD for the academic programs and the great baseball.
