JUNIOR (2011): Appeared in 49 games with 47 game starts...batted .234 (34-for-145) with a .255 slugging percentage and a .343 on base percentage...totaled 19 RBIs, three doubles and 17 runs scored...his first hit as a Torero came against Vanderbilt on February 1, 2011...had his best offensive outing against Pepperdine, going 3-for-4 with one double, a walk and 3 RBIs.
COLLEGE: Played two years at Santa Ana College...he helped lead the team to the Orange Empire Conference championship both seasons...he was named the OEC Player of the Year as a sophomore after hitting .437 with 62 hits, eight doubles, one triple, five home runs and 28 RBI...he was also named All-American as a sophomore...as a freshman he hit .342 with 55 hits, seven doubles, four triples and 27 RBI.
HIGH SCHOOL: Played baseball at Sonora High School for coach Pat Tellers...he earned two varsity letters at Sonora in his junior and senior seasons...he was named first-team All-Freeway League as a senior.
PERSONAL: Julian Duran was born on August 8, 1990 in Downey, Calif....he is the son of Mark and Rose Duran...he was also recruited by Cal State Fullerton, San Francisco, Utah, Cal Poly Pomona, Cal State Los Angeles and Cal State San Marcos...chose to attend USD because of the great baseball program and the campus.
