.400 batting average, one home run, .520 OBP and hit .560 with runner sin scoring position as a senior. He was 1st team All-League, OC All-Star Nominee, and received the Coach's Award
As a junior he had a .350 average, .540 OBP and .540 with runners in scoring position. He was named to the Arizona Fall Classic All-Academic Team
As a freshman at Edison HS, he had a .500 batting average, .640 OBP and hit .720 with runners in scoring postion. and was named Most Improved on his team

PERSONAL

Abascal states that he chose USD because "God granted me the privilege to play for a quality coaching staff and the honor to represent a fantastic baseball program. I also came to USD because it is a superb educational institution. I’m grateful!"
He was raised in Central America and in the Asia Pacific
In Costa Rica, he and his family started a mission for street kids in the heart of the ghetto and built a home in a rural area, striking water on their property in order to sustain their community
After living in Central America, they departed for New Zealand. In New Zealand, they started several ministries for youth at risk. They also started a ministry for families with disabled children in The Kingdom of Tonga
He arrived in the USA in 2013 and began playing baseball
Notes that he loves God with all his heart and enjoys my family and the outdoors; especially fishing, surfing, hiking, and servicing the community
Abascal is part of the MacDonald Scholars program here at USD and enjoys working in the local community
His grandfather played baseball in Cuba and his father also played baseball on the collegiate level
