HIGH SCHOOL: Played baseball during the summer because there is no high school baseball in South Dakota...was drafted in the 42nd round in the 2009 MLB draft by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim...was named the top pitcher for the summer league as a senior after posting a 0.23 ERA, 64 strikeouts in only 38.0 innings of work...was also named All-State as both a junior and senior...he also ran track, played football and basketball in high school. PERSONAL: Sam Wolff was born on April 14, 1991...he is the son of Shari and Todd Wiles and Steve and Sherrill Wolff...was heavily recruited by Oregon, Oregon State, Pepperdine, South Dakota State, Texas Tech and Oral Roberts...chose to attend USD because of the baseball program, the campus and environment and because of the academics...his father Steve played baseball at Oral Roberts University.
