Danielle Murray joined the San Diego Sports Medicine Staff in the fall of 2021. Prior to USD, she spent two years at fellow West Coast Conference institution Saint Mary’s, where she served as an Assistant Athletic Trainer with the baseball and women’s soccer programs. Prior to that, she spent her first year out of graduate school as an Athletic Training Intern at USD, working as the Softball & Swimming and Diving Athletic Trainer in addition to assisting with Football.
She currently serves as the Toreros’ Baseball, Swimming & Diving, and Volleyball Athletic Trainer. Murray’s other duties include administrative assignments, evaluation, care and prevention of athletic injuries for all of the university's intercollegiate athletes. She is a Preceptor for the Master’s in Athletic Trainer Students from San Diego State University and Point Loma Nazarene. She also oversees athletic training observation students from San Diego State University, who are looking to apply for the Master’s in Athletic Training Program.
Murray graduated with a Bachelor’s in Exercise Physiology and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay and a Master’s in Athletic Training from the College of St. Scholastica.
Her professional Certifications include NATA BOC Certified Athletic Trainer, NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist, NASM Performance Enhancement Specialist, Graston M1 Certified, Blood Flow Restriction Certified, and American Heart Association CPR/AED Certified.
She originates from Wisconsin, but now resides in San Diego with her boyfriend Tim, and dog Bruce.
