Biography

SENIOR (2015): Made 12 appearances with three consecutive starts to close out the season... posted a 5.74 ERA with 19 strikeouts, nine walks, 20 runs, and 35 hits in 31.1 innings pitched... helped lead the team to the WCC championship...took a no hitter into the fifth inning against cross-town rival San Diego State (5/5/15), and left the game allowing one hit in 6.0 innings...allowed no runs on five hits, while striking gout five in 7.0 innings of work against Long Beach State. JUNIOR (2014): Made three appearances... had 4.91 ERA with five strikeouts, two walks, six runs, and five hits in 3.2 innings before being shut down for the season to take a redshirt season... had four strikeouts with one walk and one hit in 2.0 innings of work against Northern Kentucky (2/21). JUNIOR (2013):Redshirted at USD. COLLEGE: Played for two seasons at South Mountain Community College...as a sophomore, he was tabbed first-team All-ACCAC...as a freshman, he posted a 6-5 record on the mound with a 2.89 ERA and he punched out 96 batters in 87.3 innings of work...on the offensive side of things, he hit .333 with 38 hits, nine doubles, five triples, two home runs and had 27 RBI as a freshman...he as drafted in the 40th round by the Kansas City Royals following the 2012 season. HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Desert Ridge High School under head coach Pat Herrera...as a senior, he posted a 11-1 overall record with a 2.1 ERA, while hitting .440 with 12 home runs and 58 RBI...as a senior, he was tabbed the Arizona Player of the Year, the Arizona Gatorade Player of the Year, and the Louisville Slugger Player of the Year...he was drafted in the 50th round our of high school by the Los Angeles Dodgers. PERSONAL: Taylor Kaczmarek was born on Jan. 23, 1992 in Mesa, Ariz....he is the son of Aaron and Michelle Kaczmarek...was heavily recruited by USC, Utah, Portland, Pacific and Arizona...chose to attend USD because it was always his dream to play baseball in Southern California, get a good degree and develop on his baseball skills.
