Sophomore in 2004: Had a productive sophomore campaign in which he appeared in 28 games and started 15... Hit for a .262 average over 61 at-bats... Went 2-for-3 with a double, run, RBI and stolen base at No. 5 Texas (2-7-04)... Enjoyed a six-game hitting streak in March and early April, culminated by a 3-for-5 performance at Gonzaga (4-3-04)... Started and scored two runs in USD[apos]s victory over No. 9 Long Beach State (3-14-04) at the Padres[apos] new downtown stadium Petco Park... Registered 13 hits in his 15 starts... Drove in six runs and swiped two bases... Drew nine walks in just over 70 plate appearances.

Freshman in 2003: Hit .312 as a true freshman... Played in 20 games with nine starts, all at catcher... USD was 6-3 in those nine starts... Hit .333 in 18 at-bats during West Coast Conference play... Went 2-for-5 with a double, RBI and a run scored vs. St. Mary[apos]s (4-19-03)... Registered back-to-back multi-hit games, going 2-for-4 vs. San Diego State (4-22-03)... Made the most of his playing time as a freshman... The bulk of his action came in the month of April. Prep: Grossmont High School team MVP as a senior... Two-time first-team all league selection... Batted .360 with eight homeruns as a senior leading Grossmont to a league championship... Earned a gold glove during his junior year while batting .375 with three homers... Coached by Rob Phillips at Grossmont.

Personal: Born December 28, 1983 in San Diego, California... Son of Brian and Judy Pike... Chose to attend USD because of the location, academics and the baseball program... Was also recruited by Long Beach State... Lettered in basketball as a sophomore and junior at Grossmont High School.
