Biography

RS SENIOR (2017): Was the Toreros' closer... Named to the NCBWA Stopper of the Year Midseason Watch List... An All-WCC Honorable Mention selection... Finished year with 13 saves, tied for the third most in a single season in program history... Went 2-1 with a 2.70 ERA... Struck out 65 batters in 46.2 innings while walking just 13... Held opposing hitters to a .221 average... Started the season by not allowing an earned run in his first nine appearances, a span of 17.1 innings... Appeared in 25 games and only allowed an earned run in five of them... Allowed just one home run all year... Named WCC Pitcher of the Week (2/26/17)... Drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 23rd round after the season.

RS JUNIOR (2016):
Started in 18 of the 33 games played in the 2016 season... He finished the season with two homeruns, three doubles, 12 hits, and 16 RBI... Conyers had a strong series versus William & Mary (3/6-8) with four hits in the seven times at bat... His first home run was hit against Loyola Marymount (4/2)... His next homer un was hit against UC Riverside (4/19)... Went 2-for-2 against Gonzaga (5/19) with two RBI...  He went 6-7 as a pitcher and had an ERA of 5.17...  In the 78.1 innings played throughout the season, he recorded 78 strikeouts... When playing at Portland (4/29), he recorded 12 strikeouts in the 7.1 innings of work, while allowing one run... he allowed no runs and struck out nine batters against Saint Mary's (3/19)... A gainst Nebraska (2/26) he recorded six strikeouts in 5.0 innings, while allowing no runs.

RS SOPHOMORE (2015): Missed season due to injury

SOPHOMORE (2014): Played in 19 games with 13 starts... hit .171 with two home runs, four doubles, and 13 RBI... went 3-for-5 with one home run, one double, and four RBI against New Mexico (2/16)... hit a walk-off home run in a win against Cal State Fullerton (3/11/14)... made seven appearances as pitcher with seven starts before suffering a season-ending injury...  put in 39.2 innings of work with 28 hits, 16 runs, 12 walks, and 32 strikeouts... picked up a win in game against Baylor with eight strikeouts, three walks, and one hit in 7.0 innings of work (3/2)... went 7.1 innings , while allowing one run on six hits in a win against BYU (3/14/14).

FRESHMAN (2013): Made 17 appearances with one start as a true freshman... helped lead the team to the WCC Tournament championship, and into the NCAA Regionals...tabbed the WCC Tournament MVP after tossing a complete game shutout over San Francisco in the WCC Tournament championship game, recording nine strikeouts...picked up a win over Cal Poly in the NCAA Regionals, allowing three runs on four hits in 2.2 innings of work (6/2).... over the summer, he was tabbed the Top Prospect out of the Prospect League by Baseball America... was tabbed the Prospect League's Prospect of the Year over the summer...  he posted a 5-1 record, with a dazzling 1.53 ERA in eight starts for the Danville Dans.... he racked up 60 strikeouts, to only 18 walks, while allowing just seven total runs to cross the plate in 41.0 innings of work.

HIGH SCHOOL: Earned four varsity letters in baseball while playing at El Capitan High School for National Hall of Fame Coach, Steve Vickery, who was the 2012 Cal-Hi Sports' California Coach of the Year... Troy was the four-year pitching ace, breaking a school record with 313 strikeouts, took the team to four CIF Championship games, was the starting pitcher in three... as a senior, went 9-2 on the mound with a 1.02 ERA and 131 strikeouts in 82 innings , he hit a team leading .394 with a team leading five home runs and 26 RBI with 30 walks en route to back-to-back 2012/11 San Diego CIF Section Player of the Year...2012 State player of the year (Cal-Hi Sports, ESPN-HS) and has 2012 ESPN & Louisville Slugger high school All-American distinction... three-time first-team All-American (Maxpreps CBS Sports) 2011 State MVP by Maxpreps... three-time All-State first-team Cal-Hi Sports ESPN.... three-time ALL SD CIF first team...two-time Grossmont Valley Conference Player of the Year and three time Pitcher of the year... 4-year first-team All-East County Sports...a s a junior, on the mound, went 8-2, ERA 1.04 85 K's in 67.1 Innings, while hitting .408 with seven home runs and 41 RBI, (broke school record Most Doubles in a season with 17)...as a sophomore, on the mound, went 8-2, 45 K's in 36 Innings, while hitting .444 with seven home runs and 27 RBI..... as a freshman, 3-1, ERA 2.55 52 K's in 46.2 Innings he hit .500... a three-year Team Captain....second place finisher 2011 Hard Nine National Homerun Derby... three years Seattle Mariners Scout Team... he turned down Major League draft offers (pre-draft) for the 2012 MLB June draft due to his deep commitment to USD.

PERSONAL: Troy Conyers was born on April 11, 1994 in Lakeside, Calif.... he is the son of Brent and Daria Conyers... Troy was heavily recruited by Stanford, UCLA, Arizona, USC, and Harvard... chose USD because of the complete package of academics, athletics, campus and family atmosphere created by the great coaching staff and players...Troy enjoys all outdoor sports; basketball, fishing, surfing and camping...also enjoys indoor sports: pool, table tennis, and X-Box... Troy's mother was 4-year starter for Stanislaus State women's basketball team.
