REDSHIRT JUNIOR (2019)

• All-PFL Special Teams Second Team selection
• Received the Dave Adolph “Do You Love Football”/Team Spirit Award
• PFL Academic Honor Roll
• Appeared in all 12 games primarily as the long snapper
• Recorded three total tackles (1 solo)
• Completed two passes for a total of 24 yards with a long of 17 yards against Valparaiso (Oct. 19)

REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE (2018)

• Played in 11 of 12 games
• Registered two tackles (one solo, one assisted)

REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2017)

• Alex Farina completed his second season in 2017 with the USD football team at quarterback
• Appeared in nine contests, also playing special teams as the long snapper
• In win at Davidson (11/11) he rushed for an 87-yard TD and passed for a 12-yard TD on his only attempt
• PFL Academic Honor Roll

• He sat out the 2016 campaign as a redshirt
• PFL Academic Honor Roll

• At Desert Vista High School in Phoenix, Arizona, Farina played quarterback where he was named Scholar Athlete of the Year twice, received the Outstanding Scholar Athlete Award and was Team Captain as a senior
• He passed for 1,188 yards and 9 touchdowns his senior year
• In addition to football, Farina played three years on varsity baseball

• Majoring in behavioral neuroscience
• Plans on pursuing a career in the medical field upon graduation
• He spends his free time volunteering with individuals with special needs
• Farina’s brother played as a safety at South Dakota State 
• His favorite food is lobster mac and cheese
• During his time at USD, he has won an intramural championship in dodgeball
• Not only did USD offer him a spot of the team, but Northern Arizona University, Columbia and Cornell did as well. Stanford also offered Farina preferred walk-on status.
