Jacques Cesaire

Jacques Cesaire is set to return for his sixth season with the Toreros in 2020 as the defensive line coach. With his help, USD has won at least a share of the Pioneer Football League Championship in each of the last five years.

Cesaire has succeeded in developing top-flight talent on the Toreros’ defensive line, including defensive end Jonathan Petersen to become the FCS’s all-time career sacks leader in 2017 with 44.

He signed with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent in 2003 and logged a nine-year NFL career. He played college football at Southern Connecticut State University, where he was named the Northeast-10 Conference Defensive Lineman of the Year in 2002. In 2019, he was selected to school’s Hall of Fame.

Cesaire graduated from Gardner High School in his hometown of Gardner, Massachusetts, lettering in football, basketball, and track.
