USD

• Shey Newton will play as a defensive lineman for USD after redshirting in 2016
• Named to the PFL All-Academic Honor Roll (2017)
• He was named to the 2016 PFL Academic Honor Roll

HIGH SCHOOL 

• The Webb Schools had Newton on their varsity football team for 2 years where he completed 67 tackles and 8 sacks his senior year and 54 tackles his junior year
• This earned him the title of 1^st Team All-League
• Newton also ran track and field for 2 years and played varsity basketball for 3
• For these sports he was named All-League twice, Most Inspirational and had one honorable mention

PERSONAL 

• Newton loves playing football and basketball whenever he can; however, he also enjoys cutting hair
• He was also recruited by Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and Occidental College; but ultimately chose USD for their impressive athletics, academics and location
