- Played four seasons at St. Andrew’s School in Barrington, R.I. ... led the team to the NEPSAC semifinals as a senior
- Named NEPSAC Class AA honorable mention All-New England pick in each of his final two seasons at St. Andrew’s
- Competed for a spot on the U.S. U17 team that went on to compete in the 2014 FIBA World Championship ... was one of the final cuts from the 35-player training camp ... was one of only six 16-year-olds invited to camp
- Played five seasons of AAU basketball with BABC ... helped the team to a 13-4 EYBL record with the U17 team
- Named an EYBL Indianapolis Third Team selection after averaging 15.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game in 2016

- Grandfather, Victor Soares, played college basketball at Rhode Island
- Received his B.A. in Communications from Pitt in 2021
