Biography
FRESHMAN (2025-26)
- Appeared in eight regattas for the Toreros as a freshman
- Made a start in the USD’s B boat of the 1V4+ and helped USD clinch a runner-up finish in the A boat of the 1V8+ race at the Battleship Row Regatta (Nov. 2)
- Recorded runner-up finishes in USD’s B boat of the Frosh/Novice 8+ and Frosh/Novice 4+ races at the San Diego Fall Classic (Nov. 9)
- Logged third-place finishes in the 3V8+ at the San Diego Crew Classic (March 28-29) and the San Diego City Championships (April 11)
- Wrapped up his freshman campaign with a third-place finish in the 3V8+ at the WIRA Championships (April 25-26)
HIGH SCHOOL
- Attended nearby Cathedral Catholic High School
- Coach Richard Serrano Award winner
- Rowing team captain
- AP Scholar with honors and four years of Honor Roll
- National Hispanic Recognition Program
- Also earned varsity letters in badminton while serving as a team captain and earned team MVP honors
- Played four sports (football, basketball, badminton and rowing) in high school
PERSONAL
- Son of Analilia and Ricardo Sanchez, born in San Diego, Calif.
- Says he chose USD because he loves San Diego and feels it's important to have faith intertwined with education
- Also loves to go to San Diego Padres games and enjoys California Burritos
