Amber Schisler is in her third season with San Diego softball, after being elevated to an assistant coach in January 2021.
Schisler adds a wealth of softball experience to the staff, after playing at Campbell University and playing and coaching internationally.
In her first season as a full time assistant coach, Schisler helped curate one of the most dominant seasons on the mound for San Diego as the pitching staff recorded the lowest team ERA since 2014. Two pitchers garnered All-WCC second team honors and two more received WCC Pitcher of the Week recognition.
Schisler capped off her collegiate career as one of Campbell’s best, earning NFCA All-Region and CoSIDA Academic All-America honors, while rewriting the record books. Schisler finished the year ranking in the top 10 for batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, home runs, walks, and more. She also set a new NCAA record for the most consecutive plate appearances having reached base with 26, breaking the previous record set back in 2014.
After earning her bachelor’s in finance, Schisler went on to play and coach internationally internationally in Austria, Italy and New Zealand.
Schisler is a native of Santee, Calif.
