FRESHMAN (2015-16)

Played in 30 games as a reserve post player for the Toreros...helped lead USD into the Sweet 16 of the WNIT... helped lead the team to its fifth consecutive 20-win season... averaged 1.6 ppg, while shooting .333 from the field...scored a season-high nine points in a win against Hope (12/15/15)...recorded a season-high seven rebounds in a win against Montana State (11/24/15).

HIGH SCHOOL

Played for the Joondalup Wolves club team in Australia...she represented the Western Australia Metro at U16's, and U18's at the Australian National championships...at the recent Under 18 Junior National Championships she averaged 12.1 PPG, 6.3 RPG, and a free throw average of 80%, while shooting 53% from the field...in 2013 and 2014, she was an all-star recipient for Development League, representing the Joondalup Wolves...in 2014, she became the youngest member of the Joondalup Wolves Women's State Basketball League team in the open league...in 2012, she was tabbed the most valuable female junior club player.

PERSONAL

Tayla Jean Hepburn was born on Jan. 16, 1997 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia...she is the daughter of Mark and Mandy Hepburn...she was also recruited by Lafayette College, Northeastern University and Dartmouth...chose to attend USD because of the successful basketball program, great coaches, and because she thinks San Diego is a beautiful city...notes she lives just 100 steps from the beach in Australia.
