Bassett, a 2004 graduate of USD, makes her return to her alma mater after playing professional soccer and coaching overseas. She played in Italy for the Fiammamonza team in the Italian Serie A League in 2005 and she also trained with the women[apos]s AC Milan team in the spring of 2003. In the fall of 2004 she coached at the American School in Madagascar. She then served as an assistant coach in charge of goalkeepers at Roosevelt High School in 2005. In 2006, and she was an assistant coach at the Busch School in Seattle. While she was a student athlete for the Toreros, she volunteered her time at the Blanchet High School Summer Camps from 2000-04. She has also served as an individual goalkeeper coach for several players in various club teams in the Seattle area.

Bassett was a member of the USD women[apos]s soccer team from 2000-03 as a goalkeeper and helped lead the Toreros to four consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances. She still holds a couple of single-season records at USD for shots faced (94) in the 2003 season as well as most single-season saves with 94 during the 2003 season as well. During her senior season, Bassett posted eight shutouts and led the Toreros to a league-best 0.96 goals-against-average, and for her efforts she was tabbed as an All-West Coast Conference Honorable Mention.

Basset graduated from USD in 2004 with a bachelor[apos]s degree in history. While not only having a stellar career on the field, she also excelled in the classroom as a member of the National Honors Society and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a 3.71 GPA. She also holds a master[apos]s degree in International Cooperation and Development from the Italian Istuto Universitario degli Studi Superiori in 2007.
