FULLERTON, CA - The USD women's basketball team improved their season record to 3-3 with a 64-46 non-conference road win over the Cal State Fullerton Titans Thursday evening. Tiara Harris led a balanced attack with 12 points while Sabine Loewe grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds. CS Fullerton junior Charlee Underwood scored 12 of her game-high 17 points in the second half as the Titans dropped their 5th straight game.
San Diego led for most of the first half, but Fullerton took its first lead at 15-13 on an Andrea Adams lay-up with just over nine minutes remaining. The advantage was short-lived, however, as the Toreros closed out the period with an 18-9 run to head into the lockerroom up, 33-24.
The second half was more San Diego as the Toreros built an 11-point lead with nine minutes left. Fullerton, which got to within seven points with just under 14 minutes remaining, would get no closer as USD went on a 17-0 run that spanned just over four minutes to build an insurmountable 26-point lead. Fullerton's Underwood hit 7-of-14 from the floor, including a trio of three-pointers. Senior Amber Pruitt was the only other Titan in double figures, coming off the bench and pouring in 12 points on 6-of-11 shooting.
The Toreros shot just under 46 percent for the game to the Titans' 35 percent. USD got 24 points off of 20 Fullerton turnovers. Ten Toreros scored with Lindsay Helvey chipping in with 9 points and Loewe adding 8 points to go with her 10 rebounds.
