Streaking Dons Rally to Defeat USD Women

(San Francisco, CA) - San Diego's Tiara Harris scored 15 points and connected on three 3-point baskets, but it wasn't enough as host San Francisco rallied from a late deficit to knock off USD 62-57 Saturday at War Memorial Gym.

San Francisco (11-12; 5-5 WCC) went on a 7-1 run in the waning moments, capped off by a 3-point basket from LaShaunte Stephens to give USF a 56-50 advantage with 1:03 remaining.

The Dons win for the fourth time in five games, with Mary Jane Krueger leading the way with 17 points and seven rebounds.

San Diego (7-16; 2-8 WCC) has lost six consecutive games and 11 of its last 13, having won just one West Coast Conference road contest this season. With four games remaining on USD's regular season schedule, the Toreros are in sole possession of seventh-place in the WCC standings.

USD junior Lindsay Helvey was 3-for-6 from long range Saturday, scoring 11 points and contributing to nine Torero 3-point baskets as a team. San Diego held a 10-point second half lead and was up 50-49 with 2:38 remaining.
