(Copperopolis, Calif.) - The USD golf team competed in the 2005 West Coast Conference Championships in Copperopolis, California at the par 72 Saddle Creek Golf Club the past two days. The Toreros finished 6th out of the eight WCC schools with a three-round team score of 921 (307-302-312). Pepperdine won the team title and had four of the top five individual performances. Joe Lanza of St. Mary's won medalist honors with an 8 under par total of 208. USD's Jimmy Harris placed 15th at 225. 2nd year head coach Tim Mickelson shared WCC Coach of the Year honors with coaches from Pepperdine and Saint Mary's.
