(Lompoc, Calif.) - The USD men's golf team placed 11th out of 21 teams at the Bite/Pacific Coast Intercollegiate. The Toreros shot a final round team score of 299 to finish at 902 (300-303-299). UC Davis won the team event with a 879 total over the two-day, three-round event held at LaPurisima Golf Course (par 72; 6,670 yards) in Lompoc, Calif. USD 5-10 junior Luke Antonelli shot a final round score of 71 to finish at 222, good for a tie for 14th. His first two rounds carded were 74-77. Louie Bishop of UC Davis shot a final round of 69 to finish at 217 (+1), good for a one shot victory over four other players.
Antonelli was followed by teammates Mike Shelly (T32 at 227; 74-75-78), Bucky Coe (T32 at 227; 78-72-77), Jimmy Harris (T66 at 232; 77-79-76) and Garrett Lipus (T76 at 233; 75-83-75). The Toreros will compete in the 2005 West Coast Conference Championships next Monday & Tuesday (April 11-12) in Fresno, Calif.
