(Spokane, WA) - The USD women's basketball team dropped an 81-66 decision to the Gonzaga Bulldogs this evening at the McCarthy Center in Spokane, Washington. Tiara Harris poured in 23 points on 9-of-19 shooting, but the host Zags shot 54% for the game in winning their 10th straight WCC home game. Amanda Rego turned in another solid game with 13 points, 6 assists and 8 steals, and Sabine Loewe chipped in with a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds. USD found itself behind 43-28 at halftime but was able to pull within 7 points twice in the 2nd half, the last time at 60-53 on two Rego free throws. USD falls to 6-11 overall and 1-3 in league play, Gonzaga improves to 8-12 and 3-2.
Gonzaga was paced by Ashley Anderson with 22 points and 10 rebounds, and Sasha Polishchuck off the bench with 21 points. Stephanie Hawk chipped in with 15 points. The Toreros will play at Portland this Saturday in a 2 pm contest.
