USD Women Race in New York City

RIVERDALE, N.Y. - University of San Diego women's cross country teams raced at the prestigious and historic Van Cortlandt Park in New York City.

It was a historic event for USD Cross Country, as it was the first time USD raced on east coast soil. USD faced 5th ranked Iona, and other Northeast ranked teams like Brown, Boston College, Harvard, and Cornell.

The women's team was lead by freshmen Mariana Monasi (56th in 23:53.0), followed by freshmen Ashlen Nimmo (73rd in 24:29.9), senior Kristen Jackon (91st in 25:20.1), Sophomore Julie Shultz (92nd 25:27.4), senior Christie Osborne (100th in 25.57.7), freshmen Cassandra Mursl (105th in 26:27.7), and Sophomore Riley Porter (110th in 27.00.9).

Iona won the women's meet with 45 points, Boston College came in second with 58 points, Cornell University was third with 61 points, and Brown University was fourth with 124 points.
