SPOKANE, Wash. - The University of San Diego women's basketball team saw its four-game winning streak come to an end with a 76-60 loss to Gonzaga University Saturday afternoon in a West Coast Conference game.

With the loss, the Toreros fall to 13-11 overall, 4-6 in the WCC and saw their season-high four game winning streak come to an end. With the win, Gonzaga improves to 19-7 overall and 10-1 in the WCC.

Morgan Henderson led the team in scoring as she scored 17 points on 6-of-15 shooting from the field. Sam Child was the second USD player in double figures as she put up 11 points and Amanda Rego was the final Torero in double figures as she had 13 points and recorded six assists. Amber Sprague led the team in rebounding with her 10 boards. As a team, USD shot 35 percent from the field and was even in the rebound category as both teams had 44 rebounds.

In the first several minutes of the game the teams were sea sawing back and forth a bit until the game was knotted at 9-9 with 15:59 to go, then the Zags went on a 15-0 run to gain control of the momentum and take a 24-9 lead with 11:32 to go.

A pair of Sprague free thrown then sparked a 10-3 USD run that was capped on a Kiva Herman lay-up to pull USD back to within 11 at 30-19 with 7:13 remaining in the first half. Then Zags then outscored USD 20-10 over the remaining seven minutes to take a 50-29 advantage into the break.

In the second half, the Zags maintained a 20-point advantage over the first seven minutes of action, then with the score at 56-38 in favor of Gonzaga, a Herman jumper sparked a 11-3 run that was capped on a Rego lay-up to pull USD back to within 10 at 59-49 with just 9:21 remaining in the game. But USD could get no closer as the Zags quickly built their lead back to up 15 and maintained that lead for the remainder of the game.

The Toreros will return to action on Thursday as they host Santa Clara University in a 7 p.m. WCC game at the Jenny Craig Pavilion.
