(Moraga, CA) - The No. 4 seed USD women's tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision to No. 1 seed Pepperdine today at the 2008 West Coast Conference Championships being played on the campus of Saint Mary's College in Moraga, Calif. Pepperdine won the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2, then beat USD's top three singles players to advance to Sunday's championship match against No. 2 Saint Mary's. At No. 1 singles, Monica Wiesener lost 6-4, 6-0 to 87th-ranked Sylvia Kosakowski; at No. 2 singles, Helen Lindstrand lost to 86th-ranked Anamika Bhargava, 6-2, 6-3; and at No. 3 singles, Carla Tamborini lost to Bianca Dulgheru, 6-0, 6-3. USD will face No. 6 seed San Francisco in Sunday's 3rd place match at 1 pm.
