MALIBU, Calif. - The University of San Diego women's tennis team suffered a 7-0 defeat at the hands of No. 35 Pepperdine on Friday afternoon from the Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center. Despite the team loss, Maja Sujica and Anna Depenau were able to extend their doubles winning streak to 13 with an 8-3 victory at No. 2.

Pepperdine captured doubles wins at Nos. 1 and 3 as Juliette Coupez and Laura Claus came up just short of upsetting the Waves' 28th-ranked pair of Khunpak Issara and Lorraine Guillermo, getting edged 9-7 at No. 1.

The Waves swept the Toreros (6-8, 3-1 WCC) in singles play as Depenau's match against Arianna Colffer was the only one to go three sets. Depenau ended up retiring down 2-1 in the third set to give Colffer the victory and snapping Depenau's career-high nine-match singles winning streak.

The 71st-ranked Toreros play at Loyola Marymount on Saturday at 1:30 pm.
