In the first set, it was a close nit battle in the early going. USD then cruised its way to a 25-21 win to capture the first set.

In the second set, it was again close in the early going. Then with USD leading 10-8, a Sandra Lozic kill sparked a 10-5 Torero run to force the Gaels into a timeout with San Diego leading 20-13. USD never looked back, as they cruised their way to a 25-22 win to go into the break up two-sets-to-none.

In the third and final set, the Gaels raced out to a 4-1 lead to grab the early momentum. USD then began to fight back, but the Gaels refused to relinquish the lead and remained in front, eventually taking a 17-14 lead, forcing USD into a timeout. USD then fought back and eventually took the lead on a SMC attack error at 21-20. USD then never relinquished the lead, as they completed the sweep with a 25-22 win.

San Diego will return to action on Saturday at 1 p.m., as they travel to Stockton to take on the newest member of the WCC, University of the Pacific.
