It wasn't until USD's Kameron Knutson hit back-to-back baskets that the Toreros took their first lead with 12:40 to go. In the second half, it was a back and forth affair featuring five ties and no lead changes. Then with 13:34 to go, Barlow hit a 3-pointer form the top of the arc to spark a 13-0 Torero run, giving USD all the momentum and a 53-42 lead with 10:33 to go. The Toreros would then keep the pedal to the medal and eventually built up a lead to as many as 19 on a Ederaine lay-up with 5:18 to go. San Diego never looked back, was they then cruised their way to a 74-64 win.
The Toreros will return to action on Friday, as they host Hope International University in a 5 p.m. non-conference game at the Jenny Craig Pavilion.
