The Farms Collegiate Invitational
RANCHO SANTE FE, Calif. - The University of San Diego golf team finished fourth (12 teams) at the Farms Collegiate Invitational with a three-round score of 897 (312-295-290). The University of Pacific won the team title with a 872 (287-294-291), edging out Saint Mary's (875; 289-289-297) by six strokes.
The Toreros improved with each round and posted the lowest team score in the third round with a two-over par score of 290.
Missouri's Emilio Cuartero posted the best individual score with a one-under par total of 215 (71-73-71). Santa Clara's Martin Keskari (216; 74-70-72) and Fresno State's Jack Mulroy (216; 68-73-75) finished tied for second after shooting an even par over three rounds.
The Toreros were led by Grant Forrest, who finished eleventh (223; 73-73-77). Alex Chiarella (224; 81-71-72) and Mathias Dahl (224; 76-81-67) finished tied for thirteenth. Dahl posted the lowest third round score of the day, shooting a five-under par (67).
Rounding out the rest of the Toreros' scores were Joe Carlson (t-39th with 234; 79-73-82) and Alexis Piacente (t-48th for 239; 84-77-78). USD also had five golfers play as individuals. Skyler Finnell posted a three round score of 231 (t-31st; 76-75-80) and was followed by Linus Vaisanen (38th at 233; 76-81-76), Leon Knoll (t-48th at 239; 80-80-79), Taylor Schmidt (t-52nd at 240; 81-81-78), and Mike Bosco (61st at 247; 82-84-81).
The Toreros return to action February 25th at Westlake Village, Calif. for the North Ranch Intercollegiate.
