WCC Tournament Central
SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The University of San Diego women's rowing team will compete in the WCC Championships Saturday morning at Lake Natoma in Gold River, Calif. The Toreros are in the midst of a historic season and will look to cap it off with their fourth WCC championship in the past five years.
"USD has been a program that has been performing year after year," Head Coach Kim Cupini said. "Last year we stumbled, but we are looking forward to getting another chance to compete for the West Coast Conference Championship."
The Toreros earned their first NCAA ranking in program history last month and currently sit just outside the Top-20 at No. 22. The Toreros earned the WCC Crew of the Month in both March (Varsity Eight) and April (Varsity Four).
"This year we have several seniors and freshmen that have made an incredible impact on the speed of our entire team," Cupini said. "It's been great to have these rowers step up into higher boats and make a positive change."
The races will kick off at 8:40 a.m. with the 2V4, followed by the Varsity Four at 9:00 a.m. The Eights will begin at 9:20 a.m. with the 2V8, then the Varsity Eight will wrap up the championships at 9:40 a.m.
