SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- The Torero Swim & Dive team narrowly lost to Fresno State 136-127 Friday afternoon at the USD Sportscenter Pool.
Alex Hubel, a UCLA transfer led the Toreros with three first place finishes. She earned the Toreros nine points in the 100 fly (57.04), 200 free (1:52.70) and the 200 fly (2:05.36).
Hubel also was a part of the USD 200 free relay that took first place in the meet's final race. Along with Mackenna Briggs, Bri Jurries, and Danielle Taylor, Hubel and the Toreros grabbed first with a time of 1:37.89
Taylor also took first in two events: the 50 free (24:50) and the 100 free (53.02). She also had a fourth place finish in the 100 fly (58.71)
Briggs notched a first place finish in the 500 free (5:04.05) and took second in the 200 free (1:53.36) and the 100 free (53.87).
Senior Danielle Deiparine had a couple of second place finishes in the 200 IM (2:09.88) and the 200 breast (2:24.91).
Other top three finishes included Jurries in the 100 breast (2nd; 1:07.17) and Gwen Walter in the 1000 free (10:30.86).
The Toreros return to action next Friday at noon when they host crosstown rival San Diego State for their final home meet of the year.
