Feb. 20, 2017 Feb. 20, 2107 - LA QUINTA, Calif. -- The USD golf team is currently competing at the 17th-annual Prestige at PGA WEST collegiate men's golf tournament at the Greg Norman Course. Following Monday's opening round, the Toreros were 12th among the 13-team field. Pepperdine and Stanford shared the team lead at 3-under-par 281, while San Diego State was a stroke behind in third at 282.
There was a tie atop the leaderboard after day one with Jared duToit of ASU and Franklin Huang of Stanford each in the clubhouse with opening 67's. USD was paced by Dalton Hankamer (73), Daniel Lopez (74), Nick Baines (75), Nathan Zhao (76) and George Gardner (77). The Prestige at PGA WEST, hosted jointly by UC Davis and Stanford, continues through Wednesday.
