After two weeks on the road, the Toreros (5-6-3, 1-1-1 WCC) return to Torero Stadium to face the Aztecs (5-6-1) in a non-conference matchup.

LAST TIME OUT
•The Toreros return from a successful 1-0-1 conference road trip last weekend where they defeated Gonzaga 1-0 and tied No. 7 Portland 1-1.

Miguel Berry scored both of USD's goals over the weekend. During Friday's match at Gonzaga, Berry sent a quick pass from
Gustav Ericsson in to the opposite post from the top of the box. The assist was Ericsson's first as a Torero.Â

• Berry gave San Diego the lead in their 1-1 draw with the No. 7 Pilots on a penalty kick in the second minute.
Reuben Dass drew the foul inside the box after challenging his defender up the field, to set up the early opportunity for the Toreros.

• Goalkeeper
Matt Wiher and the Toreros back line shut out their opponents for 172 minutes, before Portland scored the equalizer. Wiher made three saves against Gonzaga and five saves against Portland.

ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST SAN DIEGO STATE
• San Diego trails SDSU in the all-time series 6-13-2 and the Aztecs have won the last two meetings. The cross-town rivals last met up in 2016, with USD falling in overtime, 1-0.

CELEBRATING 40 YEARS
• San Diego men's soccer will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the program during Friday's match. Fans were given the opportunity to vote on the all-time starting XI and the 40th anniversary team will be recognized at halftime.

Miguel Berry is pacing the offense for the Toreros with 11 points including a team-high five goals and one assist. He has tallied 46 shots, which puts him second in the WCC.

Matt Wiher has been playing well in goal for the Toreros. He has started ten matches for USD and tallied 43 saves.

• The sophomore is ranked second in the WCC in goals-against average (0.73), save percentage (0.843) shutouts (4). Wiher ranks in the top 50 nationally in save percentage (7th) and goals-against average (25th).

• Wiher made a career-high eight saves in San Diego's 1-0 victory over CSUN on Sept. 23, and then tied that with eight saves against San Francisco in a 2-1 loss on Oct. 7.

BRIAN QUINN ERA BEGINS
• After eight seasons as an assistant coach and three years as an associate head coach, Quinn took the reins of the program in 2018 and made his head coaching debut against UC Irvine on Aug. 24.Â

Seamus McFadden, who served as the head coach for the first 39 years of the program, remains on Quinn's staff as an assistant. Mike Nicholson continues on as an assistant coach and enters his 14th year with the program in 2018.
