SAN DIEGO – San Diego is set to face No. 4 Saint Mary's and Pacific this weekend at Torero Stadium.
The Toreros (5-7-3, 1-1-1 WCC) will take on the Gaels (14-0, 3-0 WCC), who are currently ranked fourth in the country, on Friday at 7 p.m. On Sunday, San Diego will host the Tigers (8-3-2, 2-1 WCC) at 2 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT

Matt Wiher made five saves behind a strong San Diego defense but it was not enough to take down cross-town rival San Diego State in a 2-0 defeat.
• The Toreros faced 16 shots from the Aztecs with 11 of those coming in the first half. SDSU scored in the 4th minute and again in the 86th minute on a late penalty kick to secure the win.
ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST SAINT MARY'S
• The Toreros lead the all-time series 30-10-7 against the Gaels. In their last meeting,
Aaron Frey and
Reuben Dass scored a goal apiece for the Toreros to end in a 2-2 draw.
ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST PACIFIC
• The all-time series is tied 2-2-0 between the Toreros and the Tigers. Last season, the Toreros dropped a 3-1 decision after falling behind early 0-2.
Freddy Polzer scored in the 11th minute but the Toreros were unable to complete the comeback.
LEADING THE ATTACK

Miguel Berry is pacing the offense for the Toreros with 11 points including a team-high five goals and one assist. He has tallied 49 shots, which puts him second in the WCC. He's also 2-of-3 in penalty kicks this season.

Matt Wiher has been playing well in goal for the Toreros. He has started 11 matches for USD and tallied 48 saves.
• The sophomore is ranked second in the WCC in save percentage (0.828) and shutouts (4) and third in goals-against average (0.83) and saves (48). Wiher ranks in the top 50 nationally in save percentage (15th) and goals-against average (38th).
• Wiher made a career-high eight saves in San Diego's 1-0 victory over CSUN on Sept. 23, and then tied that with eight saves against San Francisco in a 2-1 loss on Oct. 7.
BRIAN QUINN ERA BEGINS
• After eight seasons as an assistant coach and three years as an associate head coach, Quinn took the reins of the program in 2018 and made his head coaching debut against UC Irvine on Aug. 24.

Seamus McFadden, who served as the head coach for the first 39 years of the program, remains on Quinn's staff as an assistant. Mike Nicholson continues on as an assistant coach and enters his 14th year with the program in 2018.
