The Toreros (6-4) return to the Jenny Craig Pavilion to take on the Spartans (1-9) in the final game of their nonconference schedule.

Sydney Shepard scored a career-high 26 points in San Diego's 87-77 loss to UTSA last Saturday in San Antonio, Texas.

• The Toreros shot 44 percent from the field and 50 percent (6-of-12) from three-point range, but could not keep pace with the Roadrunners who shot 50 percent from the field and outscored USD, 42-35 in the second half.

• Shepard finished the day 9-of-14 and 6-of-10 from three-point land, accounting for all of USD's points from that range.Â

• The Toreros cooled off in the second half, shooting 38 percent and 0-for-3 from beyond the arc. The Roadrunners maintained the lead for a majority of the third quarter before San Diego pulled even, 58-58, with a little over three minutes remaining in the period.

• UTSA used a 10-2 run midway through the fourth quarter to create some distance and never relinquished the lead again.

• The Roadrunners dominated points in the paint (50-34), second chance points (17-8) and rebounds (41-32), while San Diego held the advantage from three-point range (6-2).
