2019 Baseball Schedule

SAN DIEGO— San Diego is pleased to announce the release of its 2019 baseball schedule. The Toreros schedule features 54 games, including 17 games against 10 teams that participated in the 2018 NCAA tournament.
 
USD will open up the season with 17 nonconference games and will participate in two tournaments. The season begins on Feb. 15 when USD hosts Wagner for a three-game series at Fowler Park (Feb. 15-17). 
 
The following week the Toreros will travel to Long Beach State for a matchup with the 49ers on Feb. 19 before playing host to ASU the following day. 
 
San Diego will host Oklahoma, Missouri State and Utah in the Tony Gwynn Legacy Tournament Feb. 22-24. Both the Sooners and the Bears made appearances in the NCAA tournament last season.
 
The Toreros will travel to face crosstown rival San Diego State on Feb. 26 before hosting the Aztecs later in the year (April 23). USD then returns to Fowler Park to host St. John's for a three-game series March 1-3. Both opponents made the postseason last year as well.
 
San Diego will travel north on March 5 to face UC Riverside before hosting the Highlanders later in the season on April 2. 
 
This season the Toreros will participate in the Seattle Baseball Showcase, taking place at the home field of the Seattle Mariners. The six-team tournament features five 2018 NCAA tournament teams including the defending national champion Oregon State Beavers. The Toreros will take on Coastal Carolina, Minnesota and Indiana in the three-day tournament.
 
The Toreros will return home March 12 to face TCU before beginning conference play on March 15 when they host Pepperdine. The Waves finished first in the WCC last season with a 17-10 conference record. 
 
San Diego will play an additional 10 nonconference games throughout the second half of its season. Most notably, the Toreros will host CS Fullerton March 19 before traveling to face the Titans on April 30. They will also face Cal Baptist April 16 in Riverside, CA before hosting the Lancers May 14 in the final game of the regular season. 
 
The Toreros return an experience group of upperclassmen and a talented core of underclassmen, including seven starters from last year's team that finished eighth in the WCC.
