SAN BRUNO, Calif. — After an offensive eruption against LMU over the weekend that saw him hammer the first two home runs of his college career and drive in a remarkable nine runs, San Diego baseball's Jayton Greer has been named both the WCC Player and Freshman of the Week for May 18, 2026, the West Coast Conference announced on Monday afternoon.

Greer batted a blistering .600 (6-for-10) with four runs scored, two doubles, two home runs, and three walks against the Lions while getting on base at a .714 clip and slugging 1.400.

He began his weekend with a 2-for-3 performance in the series opener that saw him rip a double, draw a walk, score a run, and drive in four more, then turned in one of the Toreros' most dominant offensive efforts of the season on Friday night, going 3-for-4 with two home runs — including a go-ahead grand slam in the bottom of the eighth inning that gave him three runs scored and five RBIs on the evening. Greer stayed productive in the series finale on Saturday, going 1-for-3 with two doubles to help the Toreros sweep the series and wrap up their schedule on a high note.

USD ends the 2026 season with three conference player of the week awards.
